    1. Prepare for Your Application

    • Preview the application process by reviewing this Graduate Application Tutorial 
    • To expedite your application submission, be prepared to provide contact information for academic references. Students are able to upload select checklist items during the application process, or upload everything after submitting their application in their application portal. 
      • Which checklist items can I upload during the application process?

        • Required: Passport (international students only)
        • Optional Uploads: Admissions Essay, Unofficial Transcripts, Evidence of NYS Teaching Certification or MTBC credential, TAGA Application Documents (e.g., letter of interest, resume, TA grading sample), MFA requirements (Artist Statement, Digital Portfolio, TAGA Documents)
    • International applicants:  be prepared to upload a copy of your passport. You will be asked to upload additional documentation within your applicant portal if you are seeking an I-20.

    2. Begin Your Application

    • Select the YEAR you would like to begin graduate study:
      • 2021-22: admission for Fall 2021, Spring 2022, Summer 2022
      • 2022-23: admission for Fall 2022, Spring 2023, Summer 2023


    3. Submit Your Application & Manage Checklist Items

    • After submitting your application, login into your applicant portal to upload and manage your checklist items.
      • NOTE: It may take up to 60 minutes before your program checklist is viewable within your application portal. 
    • Send official transcripts* and test scores to our office: SUNY New Paltz, Office of Graduate & Extended Learning, 800 Hawk Drive, New Paltz, NY 12561-2442
      *SUNY New Paltz students and Alumni are NOT required to submit official New Paltz transcripts.
